About d.velop pilot (LLM)

A smarter DMS based on AI technology

d.velop pilot enhances your existing d.velop documents system by enabling you to import and interact with documents in an intelligent way. The app makes use of state-of-the-art artificial intelligence technologies, using large language models (LLM) to interpret natural language requests and translate them into actions. This will enable you to work more easily and effectively with your documents and save you time.

Automatic AI-supported document recognition

Artificial intelligence assists with the import of documents, handling the classification of incoming documents and extracting key properties. Depending on the type of document, further useful information may be determined. The AI thus enriches all your documents with additional knowledge – without you having to do anything and in the shortest possible time.

Easily get answers to complex questions

A chat function enables you to ask specific questions about a document – in completely natural language. You receive an answer within seconds, for example a summary of the document's contents or information on the term of a contract. And all without time-consuming searches; it's as convenient as getting an answer from your own chat widget.

Functions at a glance

• Smart import

  Document types and properties can be detected automatically and are displayed clearly in the index. The AI results are marked as such and output within seconds.

• Smart context

  Context information is automatically generated for each document, such as sender information and brief summaries.

• Smart chat

  The chat function enables you to ask questions about the document or enter information. Summaries of texts, answers about contract terms and other information are available in real time.

Use the provider of your choice

You have the choice: With just a few clicks, you can configure whether d.velop pilot will use the LLM from OpenAI OpCo, LLC, or the alternative from ALEPH ALPHA.  

When using OpenAI, your data will be transferred to a third country outside the European Union. ALEPH ALPHA, a Heidelberg-based company, is subject to European data protection law. 

Please note that the choice of provider will significantly impact the performance of the software. Better performance is currently expected with the LLM from OpenAI OpCo, LLC.

Important notes on use

Service limit

Currently, we limit use to 1,000 requests per tenant per month. This limit ensures that we can make the limited resources from downstream providers available to as many customers as possible.

Rate limits

Use of OpenAI is restricted to a certain maximum amount of data per minute. Due to these restrictions, certain requests may not be processed correctly for the time being. 

Hallucination

In certain cases, the underlying LLMs may invent information in ways that cannot be predicted. This problem, known as “hallucination,” is a fundamental limitation of current LLMs.

Long response times

LLMs are based on very elaborate calculations. Therefore, there may be waiting times of up to 30 seconds for certain requests.

Timeouts

Long, multi-page documents (such as contracts) can lead to timeouts. In these cases, you will not receive a reply in the chat.

Training cutoff

The underlying LLMs incorporate training data up to a certain point in time and cannot access more recent information.
